Frequently Asked Questions

Battery Questions

What is the Instruction for the battery use?

1.Please use original or INRICO approved battery; 2. If metal conductors such as jewelry, keys or beads touch the bare electrode of the battery, all batteries may cause damage or personal injury. Be careful with batteries that have been charged, especially when you put them in your pocket, wallet, or other metal container; 3. Charging should be carried out in an environment of 5~40 °C. if beyond this temperature range, the battery life will be affected and the capacity may not be fill charged.

How long is the battery use time?

The use time of full capacity battery is related to the use frequency and the environment. Normally, the use time of the radio is 8-12 hours after the radio is full charged. If you use the radio to receive and transmit with high frequency, the battery usage time may be less than 8 hours, but if the frequency is small, battery use time may be up to 16 hours or more.

It won't last long after the battery is fully charged?

Battery life is up, please change the battery. (the normal charge and discharge times of Ni-MH battery are 300-400 times, and Lithium battery is more than 400 times)

Is it useful to charge battery another hour after charging base light green?

The radio Ni-MH / Ni-CD battery use charging base, the charge voltage is 8.7V.The regular Ni-MH / Ni-CD battery charger has the characteristics of first constant current, posterior constant voltage, and red light at the beginning of charging. The fast charging current is 0.6-0.8A, the full charge current is 200 mA. after filling then turn green light. Most chargers are still charged with tens of mA small current trickle to keep the battery energy. The charging voltage of Lithium battery is less than 8.4V. The end of charge voltage is determined by the charger and radio Lithium battery (with protective panel). The charging mode is mainly voltage detection, when the voltage is filled to the valve, The internal circuit of the charger or the switch valves of the radio Lithium battery protective panel will be turned off immediately, at that moment the charger turns green light, and it is useless to charge for another hour.

Common Problems

How to maintain the device?

When the device is used for a long period of time, the control knob, and housing easily get dirty. Remove the control knob & clean the housing with a neutral detergent (dont use strong corrosive chemicals) & a damp cloth. Use of chemicals such as detergents, alcohols, sprays may cause damage to the housing and the surface of the device.  Handle gently, and do not carry it by antenna. When not using accessories such as headphones, please cover it with the dust cover (if equipped).

Battery usage precautions?

Use original batteries supplied or approved by Inrico; 2. If metallic conductors such as jewellery, keys, or beads touch exposed electrodes of the battery, all batteries may cause damage or personal injury. Please be careful with batteries that have already been charged, especially when you put them in pockets, wallets, or other metal containers. 3. Pay attention to charging in a 5 to 40 degree environment. If this temperature range is exceeded, the battery life may be affected and it may be insufficient to fill the rated capacity.

Safety precautions during the use of the radio

In a car with an airbag, do not place the radio in the range that may be involved when the airbag is deployed. If the radio is in the range of areas that may be involved when the airbag is deployed. Once the airbag is rapidly deployed, the radio may injure the inside of the vehicle with great impact; 2. In a potentially explosive atmosphere or occasion, unless the walkie-talkie passes Special certified explosion-proof, the radio must be turned off. In potentially explosive atmospheres, electric sparks will cause explosions or fires; 3. Do not replace or charge the battery in a potentially explosive atmosphere. Installing and removing the battery may cause electric sparks and explosions. 4. Close the radio before making it near the blasting area and detonator area to avoid possible explosion.

What should we do if electromagnetic interference due to electromagnetic compatibility?

To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or problems caused by electromagnetic compatibility, turn off the device when the ¡°OFF RADIO¡± slogan is attached. For example, a hospital or other place where health care medical equipment is used. When you fly, you should also turn off the radio as required.

How To Choose A Radio

What should we do before we purchase a device?

Customers should apply local certificates about device, according to the documents including CE,FCC, ROSH test report provided by manufacture.

UHF VS VHF, Which has better range?

Transmission range under certain conditions will be different.Wavelength for UHF device and VHF are different, transmission losses are not the same. If device used in building dense cities  ,  UHF device will be a good choice; if device used in open spaces, like marine, wilderness, VHF device will be better.

Why is there a radio frequency limit?

To ensure that most users¡¯ communication have no interference, and frequency resources will be utilized reasonably, frequency utilization has been divided by national radio management committee , who stipulates that different industry using the corresponding frequency range. To purchase the walkie-talkie, users must apply frequency points from national radio management committee

Is there a charge for using radios?

There is no charge for using analog radio. No matter how often you use it, annual frequency occupancy fee for each device is very low, and the public channel is free.

What is the difference between Analog radios and digital radios?

Traditional analog walkie-talkie is the voice, signaling, signal modulation in a continuous wave mode to the radio carrier frequency, and after amplification and other optimization of a communication mode. With the technology is mature, perfect system, the cost is relatively low.

Digital walkie-talkie is the digital voice signal to a specific digital coding and specific base band modulation form, and the use of digital signal processor to optimize the data communication mode. Compared with traditional analog walkie-talkie, it has obvious advantages such as strong anti-interference ability, high confidentiality, narrow bandwidth of channel and strong data transmission capability.

Maintenance & Safety

Receiving a small voice or interrupted voice, why?

Please check if the microhole of MIC is blocked (if so, please return the radio to your Inrico authorized dealer for maintenance)

What are common problems when testing?

Frequency point interference: there are often serial frequencies or received noise from other radio stations to interfere with the normal use of the interphone. There are three processing methods: 1 change the frequency. 2 add subaudio or DTMF etc. 3 reduce the noise level (applicable when individual machine receives interference under the same conditions) 2. Proximity: when the communication distance between the radio and the actual needs is several meters, the machine power and noise level can be adjusted to achieve. After adjustment is still unable to improve when considering the installation of transfer desk to solve. 3. Voice discontinuity: interphone communication often occurs at critical distances, where noise levels can be adjusted or received subaudio cancelled. Test effect. 4. Howl: roars occur when the two intercom communications occur only a few metres or closer. This is a normal phenomenon, can be closed to the appropriate size of the sound to solve.

No display or error on the radio LCD

This happens because of the poor connection between the LCD and PCB. The possible cause of this is that the radio was dropped and not used properly. (please return the radio to your Inrico authorized dealer for maintenance)

How to use the scan function of a radio

Scanning function can be used to find the channel with signal in the preset frequency; 2. Press the scan button to turn the scan on or off.

Radio reception is intermittent and noisy?

Please confirm if the radio is beyond its communication distance or there are tall buildings in arounds  and the user is in the cellar etc. (please send maintenance station for fix)
