Industrial and plant

Radios for industrial sites and plants

Noise, dust and water finish off ordinary handsets. These devices are built rugged, with IP-rated bodies and loud speakers for a plant floor, on the same Dispatcher platform as the rest of the operation.

Built rugged

The IRC380 is IP68 with a 1.5 m drop rating and MIL-STD-810H. The T521 is IP66 with a 1.2 m drop rating.

Loud and clear

The T521 has a 40 mm, 3W speaker. The IRC380 has a 36 mm, 3W waterproof speaker and a noise-cancelling microphone.

Changing over from DMR

The IRC380 works on PoC and on DMR, so the changeover does not have to happen in one weekend.

Hazardous areas

Where explosive gas or dust can be present, the T320 EX is certified intrinsically safe for Zone 1 and Zone 21, in an IP65 body with a dedicated SOS key.

DMR and PoC side by side

The IRC380 carries DMR on UHF 400 to 480 MHz or VHF 136 to 174 MHz alongside 4G push-to-talk.

DMR normally needs a frequency licence from ICASA. The PoC side does not.

Questions we get asked

Can we keep our DMR radios while we move to PoC?

Yes. The IRC380 works on both, so teams can move over in stages.

Which radio is intrinsically safe?

The T320 EX, certified Ex ib IIB T4 Gb for explosive gas and Ex ib D21 T135°C Db for combustible dust. It is priced on request, so tell us how your site is classified.

Are the radios type approved?

Yes. The models we stock carry ICASA type approval, and each certificate is linked from its product page.
