One channel across every site
Talk groups run over the mobile network, so people far apart hear each other the moment someone presses the button. Groups are changed from the console and reach the radios over the air.
No frequency licence to apply for
A network radio uses mobile data, so there is no repeater site to rent and no frequency application to wait on. The IRC380 in DMR mode and the IP358 analogue radio use VHF or UHF, which normally does need a frequency licence.
SIMs supplied
We supply our own data SIMs with the radios. You buy the radios outright, and a monthly licence per radio covers the platform and the data it uses.
Type approved for South Africa
The models we stock carry ICASA type approval, and each product page links its certificate, which is the first thing a tender pack asks for.

How a PoC radio works
PoC stands for push-to-talk over cellular. The radio carries a data SIM and connects over 2G, 3G or 4G. Press the button and your voice reaches everyone in the talk group, wherever they are, as long as their radio has signal.
There is no base station or repeater to install, so there is no site survey before you can start talking.
What it costs to run
The radios are an outright purchase: you buy them and you own them. What recurs is a monthly licence per radio that covers the platform, the server side and the data the radio uses, with guard patrol added per radio only if you need it.
Prices on this site exclude VAT. A quotation includes VAT and sets out the monthly fees for your fleet.
A full shift from a battery
Talk time and standby differ a lot between models, and between a quiet shift and a busy one. A T522A is rated at 13 hours of talk and 33 hours on standby, and the S300 Pro carries a 10 000mAh battery.

Questions we get asked
Do 4G radios need a repeater?
No. A network radio uses the mobile data network instead of a repeater and a licensed frequency, so coverage is wherever there is signal rather than wherever a repeater reaches.
Do I need a frequency licence from ICASA?
Not for a network radio: it uses the mobile network, so there is no frequency to license. Radios that also transmit on VHF or UHF, like the IRC380 in DMR mode and the IP358, normally need a frequency licence as well.
Whose SIM cards do the radios use?
We supply our own data SIMs with the radios, so there is nothing for you to arrange separately.
Can I see where my staff are?
Yes. Every radio reports its GPS position to the Dispatcher console, which shows live positions on a map along with call history, and plays back the route a radio took.
What warranty do the radios carry?
12 months on the radio and 6 months on the battery. Physical damage is not covered, so a dropped, crushed or water-damaged unit is for the customer's account.
