Signing on as Inrico’s sole distributor for Africa

News 29 February 2024

Shenzhen and Dongguan, China, February 2024. Our three directors, Hennie Vermaak, Johann Meiring and Keagan Meiring, went to China to put a long partnership with Inrico on paper, and came home as Inrico’s sole distributor for Africa.

Arriving in Shenzhen

Shenzhen is Inrico’s home, and a city built on electronics. We have worked with Inrico since Inrico South Africa started, so the first days were less about introductions than about finally sitting down in person with people we had known for years. The evenings around a table did as much for the partnership as any meeting.

Signing the agreement

At Inrico’s offices in Shenzhen, Hennie Vermaak signed the agreement that makes Inrico South Africa the sole distributor of Inrico products in Africa, with Johann Meiring and Keagan Meiring beside him. After years of working together, it was the obvious next step. It means one home for Inrico radios on the continent, and support that goes straight back to the people who design and build them.

We intend to bring South Africa game-changing communication technology at the best possible prices. Buying direct from the manufacturer is what lets us do both.

Inside the production base in Dongguan

Inrico’s production base is in Dongguan, a short drive from Shenzhen, and we wanted to see where the radios are made before putting our name next to Inrico’s.

Nobody goes near the lines without a lab coat and shoe covers, and the staff work in anti-static coats and caps. Every station has one job, and error-proofing stations are built into the line so a mistake is caught where it happens instead of at the end.

Every radio we sell comes off lines like these. Seeing the care taken at each step is what gives us the confidence to stand behind them with our own warranty.

What it means for our customers

Shorter supply lines, better prices and a direct line to the manufacturer when something needs sorting out. Being the sole distributor also makes us responsible for Inrico’s name across Africa, and we take that seriously.
